At a dinner hosted at the Greenways Hotel on 23 November 2011 by the Hospital Facility Board, the Premier of the Western Cape, Helen Zille, acknowledged and supported our fundraising efforts by presenting us with a letter of endorsement.
Mr. Theuns Botha
The Minister of Health for the Western Cape, Mr Theuns Botha addressed guests at the fundraising fuction on 23rd November 2011, saying:
"Mowbray Maternity Hospital has a unique place in the portfolio of Western Cape Government Health facilities as it is the largest dedicated maternity hospital in South Africa. So it follows that for hundreds and thousands of mothers this facility holds a special place – and I am sure a special memory. It is my special privilege to toast the achievements of the Hospital as they launch the fundraising campaign for the centenary celebrations in 2016. The Hospital needs funds that cannot be allocated from our health budget – the primary health care needs of the province are just too overwhelming”.
